I'm a  beginner- are these courses appropriate for me?

We launch our beginner's course, Foundations, this summer.  Enrollment is limited so sign up now and lock-in a 25% discount.

For our Private Tutoring, beginners start with Haywood and Nahmed's A New Arabic Grammar.  The only requirement for this is to read vocalized Arabic like the Quran.  Register here.

Should I register for a group class or Private Tutoring?

Group classes offer a shared-learning experience at an affordable price. See our current offerings here. Private Tutoring allows students to study at their own pace while offering flexibility in time and texts covered.

How do I know if a certain course is appropriate for me?

Book a free consultation with us by emailing us at contact@grammica.institute

Can I still join if the group course has started?

Yes, provided you can catch up with the missed material. Upon registration, you will be have access to all of the missed recordings.

Can I study with Grammica Institute alongside my full-time college course?

Certainly. We can assist you with any grammar related help in your Arabic course. This is one of the benefits of the Private Tutoring.

Do you offer any discounts or financial aid?

There are early-bird registration discounts available for our group classes.  Be the first one to know by signing up for our weekly emails through Grammica Weekly.  Contact us for financial aid regarding our certificate courses at contact@grammica.institute

Which texts or books do you cover?

For beginning students in our Foundations class we  use Haywood and Nahmed's A New Arabic Grammar.

Students in our Essentials class use Grammica's own foundation-level textbook based on the classical grammar matn al-Ajurrumiyya.

At the Intermediate level, students read Grammica's textbook along with selections from Imam Nadwi's Mukhtarat min adab al-'Arab.

At the Advanced level our course text is Imam Ghazali's masterpiece in Islamic spirituality Ihya 'ulum al-din and Imam Nadwi's Mukhtarat min adab al-'Arab (Selections of Arabic literature).

For Private Tutoring we can use these core texts or another one of the student's choice, as long as it is appropriate and at level.

Do I need to buy any books?

All materials are provided online.

Is there assigned homework for your classes?

Yes, one to two hours of study for each hour of class is a reasonable expectation.

How much help do I get?

Group classes offer weekly office hours which can be booked as individual slots. At the end of each live class there is a 5-10 minute Q&A on the material covered.

Can I get the certificate in a shorter amount of time?

Familiar with the material and ready to take the final exam? Do consult with us but it is as simple as registering for the course and taking the final exam. Once you pass, we will mail out your certificate. Please note the final exam will only be available after the final course payment is made.

Grammica's Private Tutoring rate is USD 49 per session (50 instructional minutes), payable by credit card, PayPal, or Zelle.  Payment is due before classes commence.  Classes can be booked in 10 (USD 490) or 20 session blocks (USD 980).

There is no end date for the Private Tutoring option. The student can choose to stop Private Tutoring wherever he or she wishes.  Classes can be booked up to 3 months in advance.

Private Tutoring sessions expire after 3 months of starting.  For example, a student registers for 10 sessions on September 1st and begins classes September 2nd.  The student must finish this set of classes by December 1st or forfeit the remaining sessions.

All classes are conducted on Zoom.  A link will be sent upon registration or included on the course page.

What is the commitment for Private Tutoring?

Private classes can be booked as blocks of 10 or 20 sessions.

Can I get a refund for the group classes or Private Tutoring?

We allocate schedules weeks in advance so are unable to offer refunds.  If you cannot continue for medical reasons, we can pause your classes until the next class offering.

Reschedules in Private Tutoring

Two reschedules per ten classes are eligible to be made up at a separate time agreed upon by the student and the teacher.

This applies to all unforeseeable situations (e.g. medical emergency, immediate travel, last-minute guests, etc.)  If you do not need to reschedule, these two are not carried over to your next block of 10 sessions.

Late Attendance

Classes end at set times.  If a student is late for class, the time missed will not be made up.  If a teacher is late for class, the time missed will be made up.

These terms and conditions may be updated periodically.  Revisions will be effective from the following calendar month.
