A letter from the founder

So how long will you wait before you begin your journey in classical Arabic?

Let me take you back to a time when I stood exactly where you are—longing to understand the Arabic of the Quran, to truly grasp the meanings woven into the hadith and the timeless words of of the classical texts. Each recitation felt distant, like a door slightly ajar, teasing yet closed to my comprehension. I hungered for connection, for direct understanding of the sacred texts that shape our faith.

I studied Modern Standard Arabic at university, putting in much effort. But the course was simply deficient. Classical Arabic was different—a rich, nuanced language that formed the foundation of Islamic scholarship. University studies, even after a year of Modern Standard Arabic, simply weren’t enough to full grasp classical Arabic, leaving all who study that way without clarity and depth.

What finally unlocked the language for me was the careful, guided study of traditional texts with a live teacher.

Once I started on that path, everything transformed. I soon realized why university courses could never give one a firm grasp of Classic Arabic. To fully learn it you need:

  1. A dedicated teacher: whose expertise in Arabic and the classical Islamic disciplines to illuminate every concept.
  2. Live, interactive lessons: which make Arabic grammar come alive—not as dry, abstract rules, but as a living tool for truly understanding the sacred texts.
  3. Studying classic texts: modern textbooks always overlooks concepts that are vital for classical Arabic but are not utilized much, or at all, in Modern Standard Arabic.

That’s why I created Grammica. To give you the structured support you need to make that journey—without wasting years studying on your own or depending on university courses like too many do.

Imagine joining small, focused classes with live instruction, where every question is answered and every concept explained. Imagine dedicated support to ensure you don’t just learn—you master.

In this course, you’ll not only learn to analyze Arabic but will gain the tools to truly understand its meaning. Using the traditional method of i’rab, you’ll decode words, unlocking the depth of classical texts. It’s more than rote memorization of a matn; it’s about mastering the language’s structure and nuance.

By the end, you’ll confidently engage with timeless works, bringing their wisdom into your life.

This is your chance to fulfill that deep desire for understanding, stepping into a world of knowledge that awaits your discovery. That burning desire to understand the words of our deen? It can be fulfilled. This isn’t just a course. It’s your transformative journey.

Now, the only question that remains is…

When will you begin?

At your service,
Yusaf Bhatti

I’ve had a number of Arabic teachers in the past, but I’ve found Ustadh Yusaf to be most engaging. Despite going through the beginners classes, Grammica always manages to find a way to make the material relevant, interesting and applicable to daily life. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

I love this class . It is exactly what I needed at this time . The book offers wide variety of commonly used Arabic words that I needed to learn. It starts off easy so we have easier time understanding it, while at the same time get enough practice with new vocabulary words.

Ustaz Yusaf also makes it more fun and enjoyable to read , every now and then going into the roots of the words , explaining them, interjecting his personal anecdotes.

It is a perfect guided reading course for students who want to review Arabic grammar with Ustaz Yusaf while also benefiting from the easy yet engaging vocabulary enriched ‘Al-Qirata Al-Rashida’.

I learned so much from Ustadh Yusaf's Arabic Grammar class. I highly recommend taking it!

“Ustadh Yusaf combines several rarified elements of classical Arabic grammar instruction in a single teacher: a spiritual grasp of the Quran; mastery of Arabic grammar and usage at the exegetical level; native command of English grammar and usage…”

Grammica Institute is fantastic!

I have been studying Arabic (both Classical/Quranic and Modern Standard Arabic) for the past eight years, so I have a fairly strong grasp of the language. But I still learned so much in my grammar courses at Grammica Institute. They do a wondeful job of teaching very intricate grammatical points that all serious students of Quranic/Classical Arabic need to know.
