Practice your reading and translating skills this Ramadan as we read the section on the beginning of revelation from the Sira of Ibn Hisham, one of the earliest prophetic biographies in the Muslim scholarly tradition.

What We’ll Cover

Session 1 (March 1st Sunday): Before Prophecy
The state of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his habit of worship before his encounter with the Angel Gabriel.

Session 2 (March 4th Wednesday): Before Prophecy (part 2)
The Prophet's love for seclusion and his visits to the cave of Hira.

Session 3 (March 8th Sunday): Angelic Encounter
The first revelation and sura "Recite!" Here you practice your i'rab parsing skills with the first verses that were revealed from the Quran.

Session 4 (March 11th Wednesday): Return to Khadija
The resultant state of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and his wife Khadija comforting him.

Session 5 (March 15th Sunday): Waraqa, Early Verses
The encounter with Khadija's cousin, Waraqa ibn Nawful, and his recognition. You will practice your i'rab skills on the sura of Destiny.
