Our Curriculum
Grammica Institute's goal is to take learners who have some formal Arabic studies to where they can comprehend classical Arabic texts independently.
Our core curriculum consists of three courses, each building upon the knowledge gained from the previous course.
Essentials Certificate
In the Essentials certificate students learn 80% of the Arabic grammar concepts that they need to grammatically analyze words in Arabic.
The Essentials course trains the student in formal i'rab, the language of the grammarians that one finds in tafsir literature.
Intermediate Certificate
In the Intermediate course students will read the classical Arabic primer, the Matn al -Ajrumiyya, in its original Arabic. Students will learn to tackle irregular morphology and other concepts building from the Essentials program.
Advanced Certificate
In the Advanced certificate course students read the
Mutammima al Ajrumiyya, an expansion of the Ajrumiyya, where they will grammatically parse over a 100 Quranic verses. Students will also vocalize and translate selections from the Ihya 'ulum al-din, Revival of the Religious Sciences, a masterpiece in Islamic spirituality by the great scholar Imam Ghazali.
Grammica offers students a structured approach to continue their studies, build upon their current knowledge, and gain confidence in understanding the Muslim scholarly tradition.

At Grammica Institute we offer a unique ijaza (formal permission) program co-signed by Shaykh Ali Hani (link to bio) which is a testament to the student's mastery of the materials covered in the course book.

About Our Team
Ustadh Yusaf A. Bhatti
Program Director
Ustadh Yusaf brings over 10,000 hours of Arabic instructional experience from having taught over 700 students from around the world. He combines this wealth of live practical expertise with fluency in English (BSc, Indiana University) and a deep understanding of the modern student’s need for fast, actionable results. Having taught at Qasid Institute in Amman, Jordan since 2009, he opened the world of classical texts, grammar treatises, and Quranic exegesis to complete newcomers for over 15 years.
Aside from eating and breathing Arabic grammar, Ustadh Yusaf enjoys hiking, reading, and relaxing with a cup of espresso.
Zainab Ahmed
Teaching Assistant
Zainab embarked on her pursuit of Islamic Education in 2014 at Darul Uloom of Chicago. In 2023, she graduated from Qalam Institute’s 5-year ‘Ālimiyyah program in Dallas, Texas, where she studied various Classical Arabic texts under the mentorship of esteemed teachers like Shaykh AbdulNasir Jangda and Mufti Hussain Kamani. In the summer of 2023, Zainab completed the Classical Arabic Program at the Qasid Institute in Amman, Jordan, followed by studying under Ustadh Yusaf through Grammica Institute. Beyond academics, Zainab's dedication to community service and youth advocacy reflects her holistic approach to Islamic education and mentorship.
